Monster Colour Run FAQ's

Age restrictions?

Adult tickets: 15 years old + (age on day of event)

Child tickets: 6 - 14 years old (age on day of event)
Please note: any child taking part must be accompanied around the course by an adult (18 years or over).

How long is the course?

The course is 5km long and includes 4 colour zones and up to 10 obstacles.

Are the obstacles compulsory?

If you come up against an obstacle you feel you cannot or don’t want to do, then you are fine to walk around it. One of our friendly marshals can show you where to go to avoid the obstacle.

What should I wear?

We recommend wearing anything light and comfortable that you don’t mind getting covered in colour powder. For the most effect from the colour powder it is best to wear pale colours, you will receive a white t-shirt as part of your ticket price (unless you have opted out) which you will collect on the day.

For footwear, trainers are ideal for comfort and a bit of grip as you navigate the course. Please note: football boots (or similar) whether moulds, spikes or studs will not be allowed on the course.

In order to protect you from any possible allergic reactions to the colour powder appropriate head wear should be worn at all times such as sunglasses, goggles, bandanas/buffs or a face mask. We would also recommend you avoid wearing contact lenses.

There will be a merchandise shop onsite on the day of the event where some of these items can be purchased, but please pre order or bring your own to ensure you are protected.

What do I need to take with me on the day?

Bring your registration confirmation email along with photo ID (driving licence/passport – a photo of this on your phone or a photocopy is acceptable).

Most excess powder should brush off at the end of the event if we’ve had dry weather, so bring a towel or bag to sit on so you don’t pass any colour on to your car seat.

If it’s a nice day don’t forget the sun cream to protect yourself.

Also come prepared with cash for the car park and any yummy treats you might want from our food and drink vendors onsite after completing your Colour journey.

Where do I go on the day?

After you have parked, head to the big registration tent, this should be right in front of you as you enter the event village. This is where you will get your registration pack and further instructions on collecting any pre ordered items. Then you are free to relax until you are called for your start time where there will be a short health and safety briefing and fun warm up.

Can I run for charity?

Yes you are welcome to run for charity, we have a list of the charities we work with featured here but you can run for any charity even if we don’t work with them.

Will there be photographers?

Yes, we will have photographers on site on race day capturing as may colourful smiles as possible. All pictures will be downloadable for free after the race, a link will be shared on social media as soon as they are ready as well as emailed out to everyone shortly after.

What facilities will there be on site?

There will be toilets onsite for runners and spectators to use.  As well as a selection of food and drink vendors offering a range of food and hot and cold beverages. We always work closely with our vendors to ensure that prices at our events are fair. There will also be some benches to relax on, please feel free to bring picnic blankets etc to make the most of the amazing atmosphere in the event village.

Is there a key/bag drop area?

There will be a key and bag drop tent onsite, keys can be left at no charge. Bags can be left at a cost of £3 per bag.

Is there parking?

There will be onsite parking on the day at £3 per car, cash only. To avoid delays please have the cash ready as you enter the site.

Will there be food and drink available?

There will be a selection of hot and cold food vendors as well as a range of drinks available on the day.

Can spectators come along to watch?

Spectators are more than welcome to come and enjoy the atmosphere of the event village and to cheer on all our runners. There is no charge for spectators to come along on the day.

How do I get clean?

If it’s been a dry day make sure you brush off as much of the excess powder as possible. You might find after a shower some colour might not have completely gone, but don’t panic it will, some colours can take an extra shower or two to come out completely.

Will I get muddy?

Although we are normally known for our muddy events this one will be mud free! Of course you will still be running around natural terrain, so if it has been raining or wet recently then you may get some mud on your shoes but we hope in July that the ground will be dry.

Will I get wet?

We find that the colours look even better on you as runners when you are a little wet, there will be some water on course where we will be trying to get you wet but if you don’t wish to participate then it’s not a problem at all and you can just go around.

Am I able to get a refund or transfer my ticket?

As with most sporting events we state in our terms and conditions that we are unable to offer refunds. If you can find someone willing to take your place we can do a name change on the event day for an admin fee of £10 per adult and £5 per child. Please note: you will need to sort the money for the price of the ticket out between yourselves.

We do work with a company called Circle Ticketing, where you can add insurance to your booking which will cover your place in the event of illness, injury etc.
